I Was Gang-Raped Twice By 9 Men" - Bunmi Sarah Sobowale, Shares Heartbreaking Story with Walk Against Rape Nigeria

Bunmi Sobowale, in a live tweet facilitated by the National Coordinator of Walk Against Rape Nigeria and author of Breaking the Silence; Esther Ijewere-Kalejaiye,  she narrated her experience of sexual abuse as a child and surviving two incidents of rape at the hands of supposed male friends. It is a heart breaking narrative and its  horrifying that these men, rapists have no idea how dehumanising rape is,they had the gut to come back and ask her to be friends with them.....

Below is the PART 1 of Bunmi's story, we had to stop the interview as she got emotional, the concluding part will be in our next post, for verification we  added her pic to the story (with her permission), as  she also believes opening up and exposing her identity will change certain beliefs that Rape is real and no one asked or deserves to be raped, we also believe this will encourage several victims of Rape to #Breakthesilence and #SpeakUP.....

Here is Bunmi's unedited tweets of her experience:

Kindly share and lets have your comments as well.

Dear Bunmi,

God bless your heart for having the courage to share your story. No one deserves to go through what you went through and only one who's experienced it knows how much it hurts.

Together, we will speak up to combat this atrocious act. The evil men (and women) do will always catch up with them. Thank you for speaking up. With time and with God, you will overcome whatever damage this may have caused.

Esther, thanks for being an agent of change and for creating a platform for people to share their stories.
