A five year old pupil Miss Monica was on Saturday allegedly raped by one Mr. Nsa Nsa, an officer of the Cross River State Department of Public Transportation, DOPT in Calabar.
Little Monica Solomon, a primary four pupil of Henshaw Town Primary School Calabar South, was said to have been carried by by his defiler into his house at Ekeng Abia (A) street at mid-night while she was asleep at midnight.
While speaking with CrossRiverWatch, Monica said “I was sleeping when he carried me and then slept on me while covering my mouth.”
Mr. Effanga Edet, Youth Leader, Ward 4 Calabar South while speaking to CrossRiverWatch said: “We have reported the matter at Atakpa police station and we expect an arrest to soon be made”.But a police man who did not want to be named said, “Yes, the matter has been reported to us but when we went to effect his arrest we discovered he has ran away. We will continue to check until he is apprehended”.
But some neighbors also informed our reporter that the Police may not be able to do anything to Mr. Nsa because according to them, his brother is also a police man who always protects and shield him anytime he gets involved in such criminal acts.
We also learnt from his neighbors that, some time last year the said DOPT Officer, Mr. Nsa Nsa, raped his own daughter to the bewilderment of the neighborhood.
Our View: Now i wonder how 34 percent of rape cases in Nigeria is caused by indecent dressing according to NOI's POLL , the offender in this case lacks self descipline and is heartless, we will follow up this case and keep our readers posted on the outcome of this case.
