POLICE NAB MAN, 25, FOR ALLEGEDLY DEFILING 3-YEAR-OLD GIRL



The Police in Niger on Tuesday arrested a 25-year-old man over allegation of forcefully having canal knowledge of a 3-year-old girl.
The suspect was a next door neighbour to the victim's family at Angwan Daji, Minna in Chanchaga Local Government Area.
The suspect was alleged to have lured the little girl into the premises of Nuru Islam Primary School to rape her.
The cry of the little girl was said to have attracted passers-by to the scene, who caught the suspect in the act.
It was further learnt that the suspect was handed over to the Police at Chanchaga Divisional Police Station for prosecution .
The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Richard Oguche, confirmed the arrest,  saying investigation into the case was almost completed.

He said the police were waiting for the medical report conducted on the victim.
He said the suspect would soon be charged to Court, noting that his confession to the crime was not substantial enough.
He added that the homicide detectives were still gathering more evidences that could assist the police in the prosecution of the suspect.
Oguche described the suspect as a serial rapist, going by the information allegedly given to the police by some concerned residents of Angwan Daji in Minna.
