RE: NOI "THE POLL RESULT IS MISLEADING" -ESTHER IJEWERE - KALEJAIYE

The NOI Polls, which is an opinion polling and research organisation, established by the current Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and named after her, yesterday released results from its poll carried out in January 2013, in commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child.

NOI Polls revealed:
“In order to commemorate this event and honour the girl child this special day, NOI Polls Limited released one of the polls we conducted in the first quarter of the year 2013, which was focused on the challenges faced by the girl child in Nigeria and indeed the world over as a result of the incidence of rape among women in the society.

34 percent of the participants believed that indecent dressing was the main cause of rape in the society; 18 percent believed unemployment was the cause; nine percent believed it was caused by lack of moral values and another nine percent believed it was caused by the inability to control sexual urges; seven percent said it was caused by faulty upbringing. Five percent of the participants believed rape was caused by illiteracy about women’

Our View:There is no moral justification for RAPE because it is against mankind ,  we believe ninety nine  percent of rape cases are carried out by people who lack moral values and have no sense of discipline, Indecent dressing should be addressed separately from RAPE, we need to sensitise our ladies on the need to dress decently but not using RAPE and SEXUAL ABUSE as a yardstick but rather a necessity based on our tradition and culture. the  poll is therefore misleading as this will empower perpetrators and send a wrong message that Rape can be justified or a man has the right to Rape  a lady not decently dressed. Well this act of RAPE, can be cause by numerous negative act but when peoples minds are not occupied in doing something reasonable it turns to devil's workshop. The music we listen to (is eigther about woman or drink or party and all sort of wrong words) which is one of the fastest way of passing a message, what we see in our environment and how it is been run with no goodness. The power of nagativity can never produce any productivity in any society.Rounding up on all these: it all goes down to indiscipline among all of us, from top to bottom, from all numerious listed causes the father of it all is INDISCIPLINE.
If we meet everyone individual act, there are good and bad intentions abilities which is everywhere in the world but unfortunately most of us in this Great country intend to choose the bad abilities we have or intentions. ***Indiscipline*** act of no punishment for whatever is done wrong in the society. 90% of Nigerian are indiscipline and that is a big problem that is why, anybody with misconduct act, we tend not to do anything to caution the misconduct rather we say the country is totally bad so nothing to do. Please I do not mean to hurt anyone's feelings with this write up but because we all have mess up this GREAT COUNTRY in our little act of contribution. Our Collective discipline will correct everything that is wrong (rape,corruption,injustice,...etc) in Nigeria.

Nudity or indecent dressing I̶̲̥̅̊s never an excuse for rape otherwise wat can we say to be the offence of babies and toddlers who get raped on daily basis?
Dr. Ngozi's response I̶̲̥̅̊s totally misleading as is the survey poll itself!
The mind is devlish!
I am not supportin nudity or indecent dressing but no sane person should attribute dat to d high rate of rape in our society 2day.
My position is CAPITAL PUNISHMENT for pple caught. @least by d tym 2 pple loose their genitals 4 raping, odas who still nurse d tot of raping sombody will sit up and act ryt!
#No to Rape and all forms of domestic violence
