Mrs. Comfort Oluwaseun Adebowale (pictured above) was allegedly beaten black and blue by her husband for daring to greet their Pastor against his order.
The troubled woman said she helped her husband become what he is today. But peace eluded their home shortly after God started answering her husband’s prayers and blessed him with surplus wealth. Then, he changed. Started keeping late nights and dating their pastor’s wife, who happens to be her friend.
She endured all the troubles for years, but the unthinkable happened on January 3rd, 2015, just two days after the new year celebration. Her husband of 15 years, Olorode Abimbola Gbenga almost plucked off one of her eyes with a stone.
According to her, “I was enduring, hoping and praying that he will change, I cried to God in the night to touch his heart and bring him back home but it seem that things were getting worse she told me in an emotion laden voice. -
My husband decided to rub it on me by dating my friend, a prophetess in our church and the wife of the shepherd of Christ Anointed & Miracle Church Aregbesola Eleweran Abeokuta.”
Afraid that the law of Karma might catch up with him, Gbenga directed his wife not to respond, greet or be found talking with the man he snatched his wife who is incidentally the good shepherd of their church, Pastor Samuel Adeniji. (Good Shepherd position akin to a pastor in modern pentecostal church)
A directive that she disobeyed on Saturday 3rd January 2015. On her to the market, she saw the Pastor sitting in front of their church, then stopped to greet him but before one could say Jack Robinson, Gbenga appeared on the scene and what happened next looks like a horror straight from Nollywood Film.
The enraged husband slapped her in public and if that was not enough, he picked a stone from the ground and smashed it on her fore head, raining unprintable words on her and cursing her to die.
Comfort was left in a pool of her blood and it took the intervention of good spirited individuals who took her to the hospital.
When asked if she has reported the matter to Police, Comfort, said she has done that but her Father-in-Law ACP Olorode Timothy retired as a policeman and the husband has been using that influence to stop the police investigation from going on.
Oluwaseun Comfort Adebowale wants women suffering Domestic Violence to learn from her story and do the Honorable thing and walk out before it is too late.
Our View: WOMEN, please stop suffering and smiling, Comfort could have died and today her family would be singing another tune! There is no benefit in managing an abusive partner! If he hits you once, he will do it again and again till you are six feet under the ground (God forbid)!
