A 27-year-old man, Festus Oyetola, was on
Wednesday arraigned before an Osogbo High Court for allegedly raping two women
“at the same time”, Punch reports.
The defendant, who was accused of raping one Oluwafikayo
and Christiana, was also accused of robbing eight other persons.
According to the charge sheet, the accused,
together with other members of his gang, who are at large, committed the
offence at Moro in Osun State on November 27, 2012.
The prosecutor told the court that Oyetola was
armed when he raped the two women.
He was charged with robbing eight victims,
raping two women and indecent assault.
The offences were said to be contrary to the
provisions of the Criminal Code, Vol. II, Law of Federation of Nigeria; and Cap
34, Vol. II, Law of Osun State.
The accused pleaded not guilty and the
presiding judge, Justice Eunice Awolalu, adjourned the case till April 13,
2016.
Oyetola, who was arrested in 2012, had been
arraigned before a magistrate court, but the magistrate remanded him in prison,
declining jurisdiction over the case.
