LAGOS—A
27-year-old man, Micheal Agboola, was arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate’s
Court, Lagos for allegedly raping his colleague (names withheld) within the
company premises on Allen Avenue, Ikeja.
Vanguard gathered that the case was reported
at the Isokoko Police Station on December 9, 2015 where Micheal, a Geographic
Information System, GIS expert at the company, was detained and charged to
court by the police, after obtaining a test result indicating the victim was
allegedly raped.
Sources
said the employer in his statement alleged that Agboola often harassed the
victim but does not believe that he could rape her.
At the
hearing of the case, the prosecutor, Inspector Uche Simon, told the court that
Agboola was the immediate boss of the victim, as he used his position to
perpetrate the act.
However,
the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The
magistrate, Mr. Samuel Olori adjourned the case to January 15, 2016 for
commencement of the trial.
The
magistrate also granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000.
