THE PINK NETWORK POWERS WALK AGAINST RAPE 2016 (PHOTOS & VIDEO)

 The sixth edition of the much awaited walk against rape campaign was held yesterday  in support of the ongoing fight against Rape in the country . Celebrities such as; Wunmi Obe, Susan Peters, Dayo Amusa, Tayo Odueke, Niniola, Koker, and Pryse joined several concerned Nigerians  from different sector of the society at the walk against rape campaign. The walk which is aimed at creating awareness and lending  a voice to sexually abused persons (particularly women and children) in the society was a huge success as people came out enmasse to participate.

According to our National Coordinator, Esther Ijewere- Kalejaiye said the aim is to help in encouraging victims to speak out and reduce the stigmatization attached to the victims of sexual abuse and rape. Walk against rape campaign is a special demonstration that brings together parents, guardians, teachers, youth advocates, actors, actresses, media practitioners, musicians, showbiz personalities and student delegates from various higher institutions and secondary schools around Lagos state to show their support to the course of bringing an end to rape in Nigeria where the number of rape cases is on the rise.

The walk started from the Archbishop Vining Memorial church (AVMC) ground and ended at the Ministry of Women Affairs, Alausa, Ikeja, where the group was received by the commissioner of the ministry of women affairs and poverty alleviation, Lola Akande. Walk against Rape is organized by Rubies Ink Initiative for women and children in partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of women affairs and powered by The Pink Network  and supported by :  Naij.com, Wfm,  Printivo,  Motbensonz Solutions , Sweet Sensation &  Etana bottle water.
